M111 auxiliary injectors?
I went by an MB dealership today and saw a used M111 on a pallet. The manifolds were off and it surprised me how tiny the ports are compared to 4cyl 4 valveJapanese engines.
My question is - between the #1 and #2 intake ports and the #3 and #4 intake ports there were cavities that had nozzles pointing up into the cavity. The lower end of each nozzle was barbed to take a hose. The intake runners were relatively clean but these cavities were sooty and possibly a little oily. Is this part of the EGR system?
