One of my mechanics has a '99 E320 that he went all out on the audio system on. There are definately a lot less rattles in the that vehicle than your average Honda that gets the "system". The sound insulation on the vehicle is so good that you really need serious power in the trunk to get a strong bass response. The whole process took forever, as the whole vehilce needed to be re-wired and all new speakers had to be utilized (damned BOSE ****e).
