They started using "blue" coolant maybe around 2000 or so, instead of the yellowish stuff. Except the ML's, from what I noticed, but all the European assembled vehicles. I wonder if they changed the interval on vehicles with the blue coolant only. I wouldn't trust the yellowish, traditional MB coolant that long. I did coolant changes on some that had reached 3 years with the blue coolant. It looked "fine" to me, but hard to tell with coolant that is already rather dark, even when new.
