Have you ever had a ride in a Greek taxi? I travelled in Greece extensively in the early 90s and especially in the north the roads are pretty bad. To have lasted for that many kms is nothing short of amazing. It took more than new engines to keep that car on the road. But really the survival of the auto is a testament to the design and strength of the frame and body. An engine or a control arm is nothing if the frame fails after 750,000 kms, like most cars would driven under the same conditions. Just look at the Fords and Chevys in the NYC taxi fleet.
