On my 83 380Sl the grill vents our held in place by rivets. One should be able to very carefully drill the head of the rivet off don't run the drill all the way through. once the head is drilled off you should be able to take a small punch and tap the buck tail (back side) of the rivet out. My guess use like a # 30 drill bit. Just be carefull take your time
