Yeah - that's the story with a lot of people - myself included.
To make it worse, his 124 kit fits Euro engines. We would either need to modify it to work with the USA setup, or encourage him to make a USA kit (just needs a different adapter to replace our USA-only EGR mixer housing). In case you forgot, photos of the USA engine and Euro engine are here - note the intake and exhaust manifold routing is TOTALLY different:
