The news did say that part of the reason the price of fuel went up, is because one or several oil rigs in the Gulf got damaged by Ivan. The port(s) that are nearby (Panhandle of Fl) received some damage also.
Also, I heard today, that conoco bought some or all of a Russian oil company. Don't know the spelling, but it sounds like "Luke".
And yes, home heating oil usually drives the price up in the fall. Lets hope the winter is mild, and we have leftovers in the spring.
