One theory is that our innate predatory instinct, surppressed by eons of civilization, has gone haywire in child molestors and rapists. They are in effect, predators among us as dangerous as wolves or lions running loose in a shopping mall. Until we find some type of cure, we should deal with them only one way -lock em up, throw away the key. This is not criminal behavior in some wayward youth who might change his way - it is permenant behavior.
