If the "best man" was measured by a yardstick that did not change its shape according to suit the person making the measurements, we might be able to agree on what that was. Is it flip-flopping or not flip-flopping? If the yardstick includes flip-flopping then we have to have an agreed upon definition of a flip-flop, and a measure of the effect of the flip-flop in question too. Then we can make some kind of an accounting of the flip-flops. By Kirk's quick summary, it seems your man is worse on actual flip-flops. In any case, the effect on the American people due to his flip-flops have been much more severe. Much of this could be attributed to the fact that Bush is President, but just peruse the list Kirk made. Then watch the video and ask yourself what was the detrimental or beneficial effect of each of Kerry's "flip-flops" on America? For example, ask yourself what was the consequence of a Kerry "flip-flop?" I mean, try to figure out exactly how much of the social security surplus Kerry spent as a result of one of his "flip-flops" cited in the clip? Bush practically spent the surplus away and then still managed to whip up a record deficit after getting into a debate over who could conjure up a better "locked box" to protect the social security assets with Gore in the first debates. He was adamant and very clear that he would not spend that money to cover the federal budget. Then what did he do?

There is a well developed pattern here. Jim
