I used to live in Los Alamos. You should have checked out the Anazai Indian ruins at Bandelier National Monument nearby - that's pretty cool, or driven into the Jemez Caldera, known locally as the "Valle Grande" - a tremendous sight. All kinds of cool stuff up in there, especially if you are into geology.

Altho this isn't the time of year for it, if your a golfer and you find yourself out that way, make sure you play golf at the public course. The feds shower grant money on the city of Los Alamos to make up for lost property tax revenues from the Lab, and they try to provide amenities to keep the local population of geniuses happy, so they have a stunning federally financed public course that rivals many top-notch private courses, and you can play it for around $20 bucks.

My Thanksgiving weekend was spent at home, but I got called into work unexpectedly on Friday, and that pretty much ruined my plans for the rest of the weekend.
