Oh god! You had old theatre horns, huh?! Ya can stun small animals with those
I'd like to find some good old Macintosh tube amps someday to power the stuff with. But the Haflers are a good bargain on Ebay, and have very good clean sound for my budget right now.
I do want to go with electronic crossovers next. Right now I'm using a pair of old Radio Shack adjustable 3-way crossovers(they USED to sell halfway decent stuff many years ago)
I gained alot when I got my H-K reciever with the sub-out. I used to use an old equalizer before as a low-pass filter for the bass horns, but it didn't filter very well. Got the idea from another stereo nut many years ago as a way to get by cheap, and I had a couple equalizers laying around and tried it. It kinda worked. But that's the fun of the stereo hobby, messing around and trying different stuff.
