Newbie Question 280

i HAVE HUST BOUGHT 1 1976 280 sedan ORIGINALLY FOR INTERIOR PARTS FOR AN 76 240D. The car is in good shape as far as the body and brakes but the engine is totally disassembled and has been sitiing for a while, although the cylinder head has been rebuilt. The owner sais the timing chain broke and bent two valves, explaining the rebuilt head. I would like to fix this car up as the the body is so much better than my 240D. it has a 4 barrel solex carb. Any advice on this project? In MD for historic tags I won't need emissions inspections so how much of that is neccesary for the car to run properly? The car turns over well by hand and is not frozen up. All the parts seem to be here as well as a full gasket set. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
