About 5000 of the 230/8 models were imported, as to the number of 69s, don't know. You might check W. Robert Nitske's book on MB production models. I should have a copy, but do not. They were phased out in 69 because the smog rules took such a high toll on power. The 250 became the standard six cylinder.
