I ask you..

What good is it haveing a diesel, which needs basicaly NO electricity to function, if the same belts that drive the alternator drive the stinking WATER PUMP!? GRR..

First time I have ever had bearings go bad on the road with a Bosch alternator. First time in over a decade I have ever had to leave my car somewhere and catch a ride home and to work. If I was in a VW I'd remove the belt and have driven home.

Yes it has 278K on the original alt, yes they were nice enough to run double belts on it, but darn-it...

Oh well..
