This is no joke now. A friend of mine found that his Vette was blowing blue smoke. He drained the crankcase, filled it with some sort of solvent up to the valve covers and ran the car for 30 seconds. Drained it and had all sorts of black sludge. He figured the car was due for a rebuild anyways. Filled it with fresh oil and drove it for a bit, and drained and filled the pan again. Seems it was fine after that.
