Last summer I was running my worn out n/a 300D. If I put diesel fuel in it, it would nail most of the time. I started running it on B100 and WVO, and it ran like a sewing machine, quiet and smooth. Of course it was a bear to start, it would burn 1 quart of engine oil a week, and the engine oil would turn into sludge by 3000 miles.
My turbo engine in my 240D is very smooth with no nailing on any fuel. I attribute that to good injectors -- bought at a scrap yard and hand tested by me. The oil consumption rate is much lower, needing about 1 quart a month in spite of the numerous leaks.
