The SRS is microprocessor controlled with built in diagnostics, and every time you turn on the ignition you should see the "SRS" light for a few seconds as it boots up and goes through diagnostics. the system he is reffering to is strickly analog, only the newer versions incorporate a processor. this sysem does not even allow for diagnostic codes, that is for much newer cars.
