I have a 1983 Chevy Suburban 6.2 liter diesel, runs smooth & drives smooth, gets 20-25 mpg, has power windows, door locks, frt & rear a/c, tilt, cruise (still works), 3 rows of seats, 4 spd auto overdrive trans. class iv hitch, elec trailer brake. It shows 73,000 miles but was sold to me miles exempt, could be 173,000, either way, its low or VERY VERY low for a 1983. I have owned it over 10 years. It was my daily driver till I got a 4x4 Suburban in 1995 and have not driven it much since. Like most of my vehilces I just kept it for whatever crazy reason. It has spent years being parked outside & it took its toll on the paint/front seats(damaged by TX sun, not use). It has ALWAYS started right up. A few years ago I started to restore it, repair the rear roof damage caused by the rear a/c drains,(there is NO rust from salt etc, its always been in Texas), new headliners, seats from 91 Suburban (front stolen before I could put them in
) then a tree branch fell on it cracked the side mirror and windshield, and I got side tracked again. It needs a heater core (bypassed). I have TONS of receipts for things I have had done over the years, rebuilt trans, new radiator, new alt, new starter, new top-o-the line large Michelin tires, shocks, batteries, hoses, and other things I can't remember at this time, nothing has over 5000 miles on it, most has less. Now It just needs the minor bodywork finished & paint to be a looker again. I am offering it here to see if anyone has an interesting Mercedes(s) to make an even trade as I already have three Suburban Diesels and a 300SDL, and a few other cars so not NEEDING anything, but always looking for something to play with, and somebody may have a need for a good rust free Suburban to haul and tow with.
