I just had the cable and lever replaced on my 85 190E2.3. Fortunately my local mechanic had a similar model in the shop with a working system to guide him. Naturally, I was delighted he could fix it. I have a good MB mechanic within walking distance of my house. I feel like I died and went to heaven!
