Most here will recommend getting a used oil cooler from the boneyard but the used one may have the same issue. The mechanic should be paying for this as there is no reason to mess with the oil cooler to flush the cooling system. If it were mine I would try to have a good welding/machine shop weld up the stripped threads and re-tap. Should be a alot less than a new or maybe even a used one. RT
