A client of my father had a 250D that was stolen in brought daylight while the alarm went off. The lads that stole the car were driving in a tow truck that had the same colors (and stickers) as the Dutch national automobile help. The car was standing in front of a busy terrace and there was not a single person that might have thought of the fact that this alarming car was towed by car thieves!

My C class has an alarm with remote control. I like the fact that the remote shuts all power windows and roof, it flashes with the indicators and I have a flashing led in the door panel (instead of the (un)locking pin. This seems to be enough to keep people out of the car. If the alarm would go off, there would not be a single person kind enough to see what happens.
We have a lot of cars being stolen and driven to Poland and countries like that.
