I don't know abotu your chain, but mine had 2 clips for the master link (2 small ones) instead of the more traditional single large clip.
I'm using them and I havent had an issue. Direction they face isn't as important since they're so small, they won't ride on the rails at all.
Sure, if you want unneeded hassle or safety of mind, get them crimped. But I'm running my engine on the clips and I feel it's safe.
