I just bought a 1978 Mercedes 300D in pretty good shape for just $400! It even has the original first aid kit and manual. I do have a few problems, any help would be great.

My seats need rebuilding BAD! Any sources for replacement covers? Any clue when the tutorial will be finished?

Take off power is really slow, any tips to increase performance?

The engine wont shut off when the switch is in the off position, but if I remove the vacuum line under the hood and suck on it the engine will die. Is this the pump or a blockage or leak in the line?
