Thanks for the good info so far. For sure I want to put a few miles on her to be sure everything is reasonably sound, before investing in frills. Its just that those 14" wheels are so wimpy looking, that new ones are at the top of my future wish list. Also I'm used to being nestled in the cockpit of a high-revving RX7, so sitting on these hard perches and coaxing this boat around turns is a hugely different driving experience. But I am older now so maybe this is more fitting. One stipulation is that I cannot justify keeping both cars.

I'll ask my dad about maintenance records. The timing chain sounds like an important item. Double row is preferred I take it. The trans fluid looks and smells normal.

I'm sure you all know this, but do not stick your finger into a running auxiliary fan! My dad did this and it sliced the top of his finger clear off! Maybe thats how the fan lost its blade, he didn't mention that part. So be careful.
