To tell you the truth this may be possiable. I have replaced the Main bearing in a 1976 Vette with the crank still in the car. The problem you will find is where is the crossmember in relation to the oil pan. Can you drop the pan if so you may be able to remove the rod bolts and take a small rod that will not hurt the bore of the motor and pop that piston and rod right out the top.
