I do realize that the engine is controlled by the ECM. Wiring just requires patience But if it's too complicated it wouldn't be worth it.
Why couldn't the non-turbo OM606 engine be turbo charged?

In your case if you really wanted a turbo, best bet would be to buy 98/99 turbo rather than a swap or conversion. I suppose I could sell and buy one, but I think it would be "cool" to have W124 with the 98/99 turbo motor. It would be a sleeper
