Now would be an excellent time to reverse convert. Any time a compressor fails internally, you MUST THOROUGHLY flush ALL components of the system to get rid of the debris that is left over from the compressor failure. If you do not do this, you will destroy the new compressor.

All this flushing will get the oil out of the system and allow you to go back with mineral oil and R12. R12 is going down in price. It is in the neighborhood of $15 per pound now. The price of the refrigerant will be trivial compared to the overall job cost.
