Not bothering to check the timing chain for excess stretch after purchase of car and getting it home. Just continue driving the car until the timing chain tells you it's time to change it. Most the cars I buy are in the milage bracket for possible change even though the odometer says otherwise. Perhaps a previous owner changed it or perhaps not. Very easy to check in comparison to trying to repair the potential resulting massive damage because you did not. Good ideal for a thread Hunter.
