Oh what a difference!!!

Well, I pulled the rear wheels off today and replaced the thrust arms on my '87 today. The rubber on the old ones was almost gone. I slapped the new ones on, took her for a spin, and what a huge difference! The rear end isn't fishtailing all over the place anymore.

While I had the car up on jack stands, I climbed under there and turned the vacuum modulator two turns since my tranny has been flaring really bad lately. When I took her for the test drive, the tranny didn't flare or slip at all. The shifts were smooth as silk but upshift and downshift. I got on her pretty good and she still shifted smooth. It was almost like driving a new car.

While I was under the car, I took an gander at the shift bushings. My shifter is really sloppy and vibrates pretty good. The front bushing was in place and looked good, but the rear one was non-existent. I guess this explains the sloppy shifter.

One other item that will have to be done this week is the control arm struts. The rubber in these is gone. I will be placing an order tonight for these as well. I think this is the last of repairs needed for this car, or at least I hope so.
