A person from JN Phillips visited, and opened the trim. There is rust area under the bubble right to the adhesive.
The tech said it could not be due to scratch caused by JN Phillips technician 10 months ago.
I did not see any sharp scratch there, so I agreed.
The tech said he was sorry that the MB dealer had not told me about the rust. He said JN Phillips would remove and re-install windshield free if I choose to repair the rust at a body shop at my cost.
Anyway, I think glass shop should take more care about the rust adjacent to the adhesive, and notify the customer about the rust.
Even though the rust is pre-existing, not cause by the technician, the tech should take care of that.
