I just put in a whole new system on my 260E W124 last weekend. I put in the Pioneer 6700-MP cd player. Pioneer 4" speakers in the front. Rockford Power 5 1/4 in the back, A Rockford amp p4004 1200 watt 4 channel powering the rear speakers and a 12inch Rockford stage 2 sub. I have a 4 inch hole drilled in the back deck where my first aid kit is. I got a box port tube and put that in there, and then covered it with neutral speaker fabic. It matches perfectly with the back deck and no one knows theres a 4 inch hole there. The sub sounds great for the rock music I listen to (it was actually loud enough without the hole but once I cut it, the deep tones really filled the cabin much better, obviously because it didn't have a 19 gallon gas tank to penetrate). My brother has a 240D with the deck drilled out but he has 2 12inch stage 3 Rockford Subs, and his could shatter glass if he wanted.
