when i moved to albuquerque i noticed that the police were permitted to take their vehicles home off duty. i had never seen that before and was not sure i liked the idea until there were a couple gangs squaring off in front of my apartment (i was working on my car at the time so i saw this happen) and a couple of off-duty police cruisers rolled up and those kids ran for the hills! i didn't know the cop was off duty until he jumped out of the car wearing a bathing suit and a tank top! from then on i was for it...i mean for cops taking the cars home not men wearing tank tops!
