After reading the legal briefs re: Exxon appeal of fines for the Valdez spill, I have not bought a gallon of Exxon and now same is true for Mobil fuel. If you read those briefs... I think people would be shocked. They spilled the oil, but didn't want to pay to clean it up. They said it was going to cost 'x' to repair the damage and make restitution. In the end they were off on their figures, so were asked to pay the rest, that they didn't figure on. They refused and are STILL fighting it to this day.

Sleazy company. The games they play, Alyeska runs things like a circus too. Once you start to read about how they don't want to maintain the line anymore... it is clear what you are dealing with real trash.

For fun, read about the time the line got shot (hunter error)... read about the bullet clamp they were to use, and how they couldn't figure it out. If it wasn't such a shame, it would be funny.

But what the heck can we do? We've pissed off the Arabs because we let the Israel force them off their land, so yeah, naturally we've got to drill on our own dirt. It's just a shame we can't do it right.

Heck, if we could do things right we'd have lots more nuclear plants and I wouldn't be writing this message! Think about that.

Oh well... Took it a little off topic but I think the point is there.
