I don't believe that.
A 20+ year old car is a 20+ year old car. If they are well maintained then they are worth blue book value, period. If they are not well maintained then they are worth scrap price, $200 or so.
you don't get a pat on the back for maintaining your car. Your supposed to be doing that anyway!

Also if you say Blue book or Edmunds isn't a valid way to value a Mercedes then your putting Mercedes into a class all by itself. that may be OK in a biased forum like this but in the outside world you have to face reality.
Don't get me wrong here. if you can get $5,000 for a car worth $2000 then more power to you.
Now this is just my opinion but I think anyone would have to have their head examined to buy a 1983 300D for over $3,000. New paint or not. In reality they are just not worth that much.
