I,m sorry, but I don't know if I am understanding you clearly. I beleive the part on the timing cover that you are talking about is the timing chain tensioner. They have to be dissasembled to install and can be tricky sometimes. This located just above the alternator.
As for the trans part, is it on the drivers side towards the front of the trans? If so remove the plug and install a copper seal ring beneath it. I hope this helps. Brian
