I believe that baseball owes its fans, ballplayers, coaches, and management an explanation. What substance tested positive? How might the substance have entered the bloodstream? Did the player specifically know that this particular substance was banned? It's my understanding that while baseball has done an adequate job of setting up broad parameters and testing criteria, they've been rather inattentive to details. Sometimes, these details can make all the difference in determining innocence or guilt.
