Odd customizatiion/retro-fit desire

Ok guys, hope this post is relevant here, as Im not sure which forum would be more apropreate, it concerns interior customization, or retro-fitting.

I for one reason or another am interested in fitting the "overhead console" dome light/fasten seatbelt light from a w201 or w124 into my w123. I am going to be replacing the visors and re-upholstering the headliner that they mount to and figured if I want to do this mod now would be the right time.

If memory serves me right, the w201 & w124 "overhead console" panel also houses a switch for the sunroof. On the w123 the sunroof switch is on the dash, therefore there is no need to have the sunroof switch operational on the overhhead console panel should I be able to fit it in my w123. I do, naturally, want the fasten seatbelts light and dome light to work properly.

Would anybody know how difficult of a job it would be to have thhese 2 elemtns wired to my w123 so they work?

Seems thhere is definitely enugh space ovverhead to mount the w201/w124 overhead panel, and im suure my existing headliner can be cut to ensure a proper fit.

Any advice/comments/ etc. GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!
