I didn't think that sounded right either, diesel is at a lower part of the refining process, thus it doesn't take as much to refine it, and should actually be cheaper to produce in large quantity, that is, if they built the equipment! They will have to eventually, they can't just keep it how it is with diesel consumption going up 3-5% a year......
