Unlike the article, I would not recommend leaving the primer and pigment layers off, as these provide significantly more scratch protection than clear coat alone. Also, consider having a pro do it if you don't have the proper equipment available to unmount/mount the tires safely. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful W126 chassis!
