You need to proced with caution. If it was a cheap fix he would fix the thing and ebay it for $12k. If the car is in good shape and it really only needs a little more work to finish it then it could be a good buy. Who did the valve job? The problem with rebuilding MB's if you need to make sure the work was done at a shop capible of MB standards. If not the head may be crap even if it has been redone.
