Even if it does smell like lilacs, the exhaust pipe is pointing out the rear and I won't be able to smell it while driving unless I pipe it into the cabin. So once again, what is the difference what it smells like? I'd rather be smelling gas exhaust than diesel if I had to choose but personally, I would rather not smell either. Until I hear people talk about it, I have never given a thought to what the exhaust smells like since I am not sniffing it for the most part.

I know when I start my 300D in the mornin, and I smell the veggie oil it smells pleasing because I get a solid reminder that I am not paying $299.9 a gallon for diesel, and that I am not polluting the air, and the dpeleting the earths natural oil reserves as much as if I was burning diesel or petro....
As far as what it smells like, I'm a vegetarian, so as long as it's not fried meat, I am even happier to smell the soybean oil.
and btw Narwahl glad to hear you're still truckin'....
