I wouldn't but it at .99 a gallon. I run on WVO that's FREE...(I do add RUG in 1:4 ratio..)
And what's there to not get about it??? It saves money. Good for the environment, and smells good as a byproduct...which is always there to remind you of the 1st 2 points. It's not a zen thing...it's like having a really good beer....once you do, you can't drink Budweisers....

WVO is free for now. Free until you consider all the labor and all that involved. I would have to set up a place so I could put a drum and not be an eyesore. I would have to collect the stuff, filter it, etc, etc. Would have to do work for it. So, when I figure out how much it costs, I add all the incidentals involved which includes the inconvenience in the winter and really hot days in the summer. When I figure out how much my car or cars cost me, I figure it out as though I brought it into a shop. IOW, if I took 1 hr to rotate tires, it is logged as 1 hr @ shop rate in my ledger. At the end of the year, I add it all up and figure out how much the car costs me to run. Doing WVO, I would figure it as though I paid someone else to do the job. That way I could see if I was having a free product or whether I was subsidizing it with my labor.

Like I said, I don't see how you actually smell the exhaust since unless I go to the tailpipe, I have never really given any thought to it when I am driving the car. I know diesel exhaust smell but if I go out normally, I never seem to notice it. I agree it saves you money. The only drawback is you have to be willing to dedicate the time to it be it 100 deg or 30 below outside. And since I add up my time in it, and my time to kick back and relax is worth quite a bit to me, I am less willing to say it is really free.

I'd rather have EISWEIN. That stuff is not cheap but it is Ohhhh Sooooo Gooooood if you like sweet wines. BTW, just because I have a good spouse, doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate a hot slut once in a while.

I do question if it is really better for the environment if you base it off the mileage since IIRC, you have to use more WVO to go the same distance as regular diesel. Would you be burning more oil and dumping more pollutants if the distance were the same? Just curious. Don't remember if anyone ever checked it that way.
