I have a similar set up on my car except I lead the output tube right up under my dash near the ash tray. You didn't mention what you filled your tank with but I have found that Bombay silver or Chivas Regal works for me. What open container? Leaving a jar of olives on your dash is optional.
This is, of course, used for medicinal purposes.
