Thus far MB has been honoring the recall at no charge. If you're really lucky you'll get a new turbo out of it.

The trick is to keep the downpipe without oxidizer catalyst. There's a line of 87 300D/TD owners waiting to buy it if you don't want it... assuming MB lets you keep it.
