HOW TO set up your Benz to run on a 15/85 RUG/WVO BLEND!

1. Important! Clean fuel system with Startron Starbright Enzyme cleaner. A lot of old Benzs have FUNK (fungus) in there tank.

2. Change both fuel filters BEFORE you start blending! Make sure the tank strainer is clean to.

3. Install a 12 volt pump at the rear of the car under the fuel tank. Carter 4-7psi pumps are easy to find. Facet (metal box) pumps are great pumps but are hard to find now. Facets NEW flo-jet pump is JUNK, DONT USE IT FOR WVO.

4. Install fattywagons injector line heater. You only need one $29.00. www.fattywagons.com

5. The most important part is the WVO....No part. hydrodgenated oil.

Email me if you need more help.

Do those injector heaters really increase the temp enough to make a difference? Seems like way too much fuel is moving way too fast through the lines to make much difference, Just look at the fuel return line, especially at higher rev's (2000 and up) there's a significant amount flowing through there, at least a few gallons per minute.....it probably does heat it somewhat, but by how many degree's at how much flow?

I think I'll just continue looking for a source of Biodiesel thats inexpensive enough for it to be worth it.....

Yes..they work great on My Benz & they cut the smoke at start up to about half. Remember RUG/WVO bends have a MUCH LOWER ignition point than STRAIGHT WVO.... 150*-160* temps are WAY to HOT for RUG/WVO blenders. Only 100* to 120* heat for RUG/WVO blends.... is all thats needed. = SWEEEET

Cool, perhaps I will look into a set of these heater lines, they look pretty slick/simple to put on there, maybe I will put a big lit up red button in the car that says "FLUX CAPACITOR" on it to turn on the heaters, thaaat'd give my friends something to " " about when riding with me, ahhahahaa.

My startup electrical load would be enormous with those though, I already have a 50-60 amp draw from my delay (3mins after startup, always) bosch glow system, it drops my car's voltage to 11.8 volts idle or 12.1 driving for a few mins, with another 7-8 amps tacked on it'd probably dip even lower....my battery light on the dash has never come on though, not even faintly, so I am probably still ok in the electrical supply area....right? Of course after the glow system turns off its no big deal, just that initial few mins I'd have a massive load on it.....

If diesel gets so expensive that I neeed to use sams oil to survive, then I'll definatley get those heaters....for now I can still get diesel at $2.74-2.90ish, whereas sams oil would run me about $3.02 realistically with RUG mixed in....

Why do you need the pump at the fuel tank?

1. It pushes the fuel to the lift pump... eliminating air leaks caused by the lift pump SUCKING the the thicker RUG/WVO BLEND.

2. It also eliminates any chance of vapor lock when running thinner blends.

Is this supposed to be on a relay switch?
can you post a picture of one of these installed?

80 or 100 watt's?
Ok I just noticed on the Fatty Wagons site they suggest 100 watts for smaller 5 and 6 cylinder engines. But they also mention the possible need of a jumper. Is that jumper required for an install on the average Benz??

Thanks

Danny

Matt, what state are you located, so I may understand what kind of climate you are running this system in? Thanks.

Sam's Oil

If you purchase peanut oil from Sam's, do you need to cut it with RUG? I thought during the warm weather months, you could run straight peanut oil. When cold weather comes, then you would be wise to cut the peanut oil with RUG.

Maybe you are tallking about a different oil at Sam's Club?

The peanut oil at Sam's is $18-19 a cubie, or about $4.13 a gallon!!

I'd stick with the clear-fry oil or regular diesel!!

What do you think about this pump:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?categorycode=3339K&mfrcode=CTR&mfrpartnumber=P74019

It's a P74019 in case the link doesn't work.
