Return Line on WVO conversion

Howdy,
I just finished my conversion on my 83' 300d (got it running on veg). I am, needless to say, stoked as hell. However. I still have the return line going to the diesel tank for both the wvo and the diesel. I am wondering if it is necessary to run aother line back to the wvo tank or to just loop the return line into the wvo supply line before it hits the heated filter. Any thoughts or experiences?
Cheers!
Lukas

You can loop either/both sides.
Common to loop veggie and return diesel.
Consider the supply hose as an extention/part of the fuel tank.
You do not want to return veggie to diesel tank.
1 3 port for supply
1 3 port for return
Congratulations!

An electric fuel pump on the veggie (or both sides) gets rid of vacuum leak issues and also lengthens the mileage of veggie filter.

The problem with electric pumps is that you have to have a prefilter prior to the pump, and unless you have really clean oil, you'll be changing out the prefilters every couple days.

I have run my electric pump before and after my racor veggie filter.
I do not have a prefilter on the veggie line.
Over 1000 miles so far and no change of filters....actually my vac guage tells me I have a ways to go.

If you do not run a separate line back to the veg tank or run a loop you could overflow your diesel tank. Mine are looped, I think that generally is accepted as best for two reasons.

1. less strain on the lift pump
2. increased heat transfer

Welcome aboard the veg train.

Funny Story

So I looped the return line before the pollak valve into the veg line, with a pretty crappy result. I neglected to switch to veg on a short trip with the veg tank full. The diesel was returning to the veg tank and when parking i noticed that I was dripping stuff from my trunk. I opened the trunk and it was a friggin mess. At least I caught it before I spilled too much.
