How many cars has Lovecraft converted?

After reading about the dangers of Lovecraft on this website, I began to estimate just how many cars they have converted and potentially how many Diesel Benz and Diesel VWs are meeting an untimely death because of it.

Any guesses?

I just answered my own question - only around 500 cars. Phew. I thought it was more.

Ok for those of us not aware....what is wrong with them. Obviously, its a biodiesel of some sort. I assume they are a crappy product or do bad work?

There are many threads you can read before asking this question. But believe me when I and others say that burning unheated waste vegetable oil in the main tank of your car is not a bright idea.

NO NO NO NO. Biodiesel is not the same as vegetable oil.

Search for lovecraft for info about those losers.

Biodiesel is:
Quote:
a diesel-equivalent, processed fuel derived from biological sources (such as vegetable oils), which can be used in unmodified diesel-engined vehicles. It is thus distinguished from the straight vegetable oils (SVO) or waste vegetable oils (WVO) used as fuels in some modified diesel vehicles.

Yes, I'm aware they are not the same. I used the term generically.

Am I the only one who is saddened by this? These old Mercedes deserve better.

Surely there must be something we can do to stop it...

At a biodiesel gathering here in LA there was a heated argument about the Lovecraft kits and commercially produced biodiesel. It ended up in Brian smashing her car window.

Might makes right doesn't it?

My indie is very excited because of all the impending failed injection pumps and coked injectors.

Is Brian the Lovecraft jackass?

That article is close to a year old... They have converted significantly more than that by now..Maybe tripple?..Just drive by their lot, you will see 25+ cars in some stage of conversion at any given time.
