Biodiesel Workshop in Greenville, NC

I attended a Biodiesel workshop at Pitt Community College back on Sept. 5. The workshop was put on by Piedmont Biofuels http://biofuels.coop/

Matt Rudolph and his associates gave a presentation then did a demo. It was very informative, and was framed to encourage homebrewers and farmers to make their own fuel.

A week later this "opinion" shows up in the local newspaper:

http://www.reflector.com/opin/content/news/opinion/stories/2007/09/14/FORUM_Kenny.html

This individual is obviously skewed towards a broader goal of removing every diesel engine from the face of the earth...and largely uninformed ($12.50/ gallon??). Apparently a 48% decrease in emmisions (a stat. floated during the seminar) was of no benefit to Dr. Kenny.

The newbie reading his article is going to think that every vehicle will need a $7k-$10k retrofit to run biodiesel.

I plan to write an opposing response to the newspaper in the next couple of days. If you have anything to add, please post to this thread or send me a p.m.

Thanks,
Mark

Good news for diesel owners...There's no such thing as cold...only the absence of heat!
