Libertarian

I've been one since, perhaps the 70's. I read "How I found freedom in an unfree world" by Harry Browne. I've lived that way ever since. I have not gone the way of my friend Randy. He declared himself a "free citizen" and
no longer registers his vehicles. It's legal, but a hassle I don't want.
As far as burning Costco oil, I'd do it in a second if it works without hurting my car. How about all those folks with electric cars? I'm sure they
didn't pay a tax to the gov.,even if they used electricity generated by fossil fuel. I speed, sometimes I use illict substances, I'll burn Costco oil
if after looking into it to see if I can. I DESPISE all sumptuary laws! I break them on a regular basis. If I can use something that is outside the fossil
fuel channel, I feel I'm HELPING my country. I don't give a bright red F*CK
about the law. Hell some laws kept blacks off the bus. As long as you assess risk vs. gain, burning Costco oil is like driving 89mph. I do that every time I'm out in my "other" car.

Well politics aside

Can you add Costco oil to your car's tank safely? In what mix and with what additive? What are the mechanical consequences? Most of us could give a crap about the legality. No law enforcement agency could even tell
if half your tank was Costco oil if you didn't tell them, sheesh

A Diesel pays more tax actually...

For the first quarter of 2008, the average state gasoline tax is 28.6 cents per US gallon, plus 18.4 cents per US gallon federal tax making the total 47 cents per US gallon.

For diesel, the average state tax is 29.2 cents per US gallon plus an additional 24.4 cents per US gallon federal tax making the total 53.6 cents US per gallon

Incorrect.

n.
A substance added in small amounts to something else to improve, strengthen, or otherwise alter it.

20%-50%+ of the total volume is not a small amount, you are substituting fuel or using a supplementary fuel.

No. It will coke the injectors and combustion chambers.

I've been "adding" .50/quart motor oil and my 603 LOVES IT!
I would pee in the tank If I thought it would work!
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
If we built our roads right, they wouldn't need constant repair.
