WVO - Anyone used the tank screen hole for a heated fuel pickup?
Just wondering if anyone has used the stock Diesel tank screen threaded hole to insert a heated fuel pickup?
Is there anything mass produced for this? I'm considering 2 tanking my 300d. I want to use the stock tank as the Veg oil tank and a 6 gallon marine gas tank as my start up/shut down diesel tank. I know the risks everyone mentions. At this point I'm confident it works. I'll still be using a percentage of diesel in the stock tank and adding to that WVO. That way it is used as an additive. And as far as the "Additive" part goes, I'm not just saying that. I really would rather run my car with at least some WVO most of the time. It runs smoother and has (as long as I've had it) had a decent engine lope at idle with straight #2 diesel. Smooth as a top on WVO with a ratio of diesel. As soon as I 100% diesel it up again, the shake comes back. But back to the tank screen hole... is there anything Pre-made that's sold somewhere. I'm looking to just heat the immediate area of the fuel pickup. The tank screen opening is a big hole seems like something could be done to plumb that with heat and pickup all in one and then use an inline filter for the big particles the tank screen normally gets.
